Hey guys, thought this would be a great place to ask a question about the right waders for fly fishing? I am looking for a new pair of waders and need to decide between chest/waist waders. I’ve use chest waders in the past and felt a bit limited on flexibility and that I get too hot. The only downside is I have at times, needed full chest protection.
Do any of you have this same problem and what was your remedy?
Thoughts?
Andy

My grandfather had a huge old collection of antique Bamboo fly rods from the 30s/40s and possibly earlier and they’re just taking up space in a my spare bedroom. I am not talking about 10 or 20 rods I am talking 150 or more? He bast back in 2004 and I like to know more about the variety of these old Bamboo rods. And possibly be willing to sale some of them unless I find out if they have any historical value. I would appreciate another fly fisherman to advise me on a direction on where to start doing research? I am an avid angler and like to fish, but I just never got the fly fishing bug.
Any website you’ll could point me too?

Wet flies and dry flies? Another Newbie here to ask a question abut fly fishing. I am going to give fly fishing a go and try my luck at some trout fishing this summer. The standard I know is to use a fly & bobber. If one of you fly fisherman can tip off a newbie on the difference between dry and wet flies? Also, what should I be using here in Arkansas during the summer?…….any suggestions on what type or color?
What size do you recommend?

Well I am moving to Arkansas and wanted to know what to expect? I live in the in San Diego, California and my parents who are doctors have been offered a good job in the Beaver Lake (Rogers). I just would like to know what will be the biggest changes I will encounter when I move to Arkansas? I am 16 years old that likes to ocean fishing and of course spending time at the beach. Although, I am looking forward to trout/fly fishing the white river, but I am not looking forward to the move or any change.

First, I want to say thank you for the invitation to this blog. Alright, my question is for the last 20 years I have been a longtime largemouth bass angler. Now, I want to start fresh and new fly fishing for trout. My casting is okay at best, but it seems that is one thing that will always need improvement. Also, looking for advice, tips, or books/vids, what flies to use when, ect. I live in in NW Arkansas and have close access to great fishing on the White River. So any tips for a fly fishing beginner would be a plus, and let me know if you want to go fishing!

Seems like when I’m not working, fishing, working with my setters or related stuff and looking forward to posting more pictures about Arkansas trout fishing and I’ve been fly fishing for ten years.
This is a format that I’m used to.
Too much water and not enough gas.
