Cranks, spinners, buzzbaits, poppers, and top waters?

I give up! I’ll be fishing for the next 4 days and the weather forecasts really choppy water due to the wind. The last time I was on the lake this happened and I used everything in my tackle arsenal. Crankbaits, spinners, buzzbaits, poppers, and top waters. Nothing! Zero. The only thing that seemed to work to the slightest amount was a swim-baits. Any advice for choppy water lake fishing?

Have you tried a Zoom finesse worm rigged Texas style with a 1/8 ounce slip sinker? I have been having great success on windy days with this. A spinner bait is good too. Like the swim bait the wind breaks up the water and makes those baits harder to make out so they look more like bait fish. Fish the bank the wind is blowing against and try a spinner bait and if the fish are more toward the bottom try the Zoom finesse worm which I to have had good success with.

For choppy water, use a bottom bouncer. Take advantage of the wind pushing your boat along the water and rig up a worm harness to a bottom bouncer. I have caught walleye, bass and trout with this method on windy days.
Another good option is the Float ‘N Fly rig. Use a 1/16 oz. fly under a small bubble float and throw it right out where the waves are going in and out. It will give the fly it’s movement. Many fish are taking off of the Float ‘N Fly rig every year. Other than that i would have said a spinnerbait, but since you already have tried that, you are out of luck.
