Fishing for Bullheads

It’s just too hot to go trout fishing so I switched and going bullheads because my local lake is just thick with them. I also prepared some doughbait that I blended with small crappie and think this world be a great bait to use. Anyways, what baits do you think would be effective catching them. Also, time, fishing line, and what hooks should I use?

I’d say a 10 or bigger hook and for line I would use anything from 8lbs test and above. I would just buy whatevers on sale at Wal-Mart. I mean you are fishing for bullheads so if you happen to lose one , no big deal I have a Shakespeare Durango Rod, Shakespeare Alpha Reel, and Berkley 30lb braided line. The braided line has an 8lb diameter, this is why I’d use it and I haven’t lost a fish yet on it.
