Fishing outlook 3-13 and 14
If anyone has been thinking about making a trip to the coast for reds, this would be the weekend to do it. The tides are in the middle of the day and the fish are still schooled up in the winter time pattern. Highs are forecast to be in the high 60’s low 70’s the rest of the week, and the weekend weather forecast looks good. The water will warm substantially this week, and the reds should be on fire this weekend.
I am out of town now, so I am not on the water. I spoke to a friend today, and he said the water was crystal clear and they had seen many big schools of fish. He was hardware fishing and said they wouldn’t look at a gulp, but they were gobbling gold spoons. So take your gold Dupree style spoon flies and gold rattle shrimp.
If you have ever wanted to chase big schools of reds, this should be the prime weekend to do it.
