I am thinking of getting a 5wt switch or spey rod but not sure which is best for me. I fish the Delaware system maybe 5 times a year, Beaverkill and Farmington maybe 8 times, other times smaller streams. Maybe once a year or less to large western streams. This 5 wt would replace a 6 Wt standard. I think the spey or switch would out perform my 6 wt and still be on the lighter side for presentation and not knock me out when fishing it traditional style.
I bought the 6 for wind, heavy weighted nymphing, distance and large dries.
Need some guidance.
